Snowdin and early routes

Toriel [Boss]

• Patience Soul Shard — Core early craft at Sans.
• Quest items and Gold bundles on first clear.

Farm Toriel until two Patience shards exist, then craft before pushing Papyrus.

Papyrus [Boss]

• Integrity Soul Shard — ~20% reported drop chance.
• Papyrus Bone [Weapon] — ~25%.
• Spear [Weapon] — ~10%.
• Spaghetti Enthusiast [Title] — Rare cosmetic.

Integrity soul is the first major stat jump for mid-Snowdin players.

Lesser Snowdin enemies

Snowdin trash drops basic Gold and EXP mats. Use them for quest turn-ins, not shard hunting.

Waterfall / Undyne chain

Undyne [Boss]

• Kindness Soul Shard — Kindness soul crafting.
• Perseverance Soul Shard — Sometimes on variant encounters; confirm which form you fight.
• Spear of the Undying [Weapon] — Low % rare weapon.
• Royal Guard [Title] — ~5%.

Hard mode variant with elevated damage and rare drop table extensions. Only farm when base Undyne is trivial.

Hotland

Muffet [Boss]

• Perseverance Soul Shard — Hotland progression staple.
• Web-themed gear pieces varying by patch.

Mettaton / Mettaton EX [Boss]

• Justice Soul Shard — Primary Justice source (~low double-digit % on normal; lower on EX).
• Mettaton EX arena — Teleport via Map Hotland portal.

Justice soul unlocks strong spell synergy for Judgement Hall pushes.

Judgement Hall and late Undertale route

Late bosses drop Bravery, Determination, and Seven Soul Shards at low percentages. Determination often sits around 2% — expect long sessions with pity saving your sanity.

Titles and cosmetic weapons drop here too; check Tier List before keeping every sword.

Underswap Void drops

After Reset 1+, the Doodle Sphere portal leads to Underswap-exclusive enemies:

• AU-themed weapons and armor not found in base Snowdin.
• Supplementary Gold / EXP for rebuild phases after reset.
• Some shards or materials may overlap — treat Underswap as gear sidegrade content.

DBZ event drops

Available after 2 Resets. Key targets:

Son Koku [Farm enemy]

• Super Saiyan Soul Shard — ~5% drop; need 2 for Bulma craft.
• Release Tokens — Often 10x per kill (100% reported on some guides); need 250 total for Super Saiyan Soul.
• Kamehameha [Spell] — ~5% rare spell drop.

Other DBZ enemies

• Event armor pieces and titles (~1% on elites).
• Gold and EXP comparable to Hotland during rebuild.

Weapons vs shards priority

If drop rate is equal choice:

1. Shard you need for immediate Sans craft (0/2 → 2/2).
2. Weapon upgrade replacing white gear.
3. Title cosmetics.

Do not grind Mettaton for Justice if you lack Perseverance from Muffet — staggered souls outperform one-off rare weapons.
